Student Council to Sponsor Blood Drive
Students and staff members have a chance to be super heroes.
They can donate blood on Friday, March 13, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., in the B House cafeteria. Parents are also welcome to donate.
Southfield Student Council (SSC) is co-sponsoring the blood drive with the American Red Cross. This is their second blood drive of the year.
Blood donors must meet a few requirements:
- They must be in good health.
- They must weigh at least 110 pounds.
- They must be at least 17 years old or be 16 and have a consent form signed by a parent to donate.
SSC Adviser Andrew Green has consent forms in room B-111.
This time around SSC would like to beat its previous pint count of 34 by collecting 35 or more pints, Green said.
The Red Cross estimates that one pint can save three lives.
