Force Field: The force was with senior Cariese Cooks as she carried the ball down the field.

The senior girls defeated the junior girls 14-7 in the annual powder puff football game held outside on Activities Day on the football field.

Scoring for the seniors were Jailyn Willis and Daria Poole. Scoring for the juniors was Faith Westley.

The senior girls wore pink camouflage shirts and the junior girls wore green camouflage shirts. But they were all visible to the crowds in the stands.

“It wasn’t really a shocker to me that the seniors won,” said junior Gerald Brewer. “They were in control of the ball the whole time.”

Brewer had a bird’s eye view of the game because he wore the Blue Jay mascot costume during the game. “It was a sauna in there,” he said of the furry costume.

Senior football player Malik McDowell coached the senior girls with a little help from his football friends. Junior Kanye Harris coached the junior girls.

In past years the boys have worn the girls’ cheerleading uniforms and cheered on the girls. But that did not happen this year.

The game was part of Activities Day, which also included dodgeball games in the field house.
