Senior Pinning is  a ceremony to commence seniors going into, then completing their senior year of high school as families unit in this milestone . The ceremony took place on February 11th, 2019. Almost every senior was in attendance while dinner was served and speeches were conducted by members of the SHSA&T faculty.

Many students felt that it was a fun commemorative senior activity and enjoyed taking pictures with family and friends. Their was even a spirit dance performance by Taylor Smith,  which combined a  mixture of miming and gospel dance.

Marissa Mitchell thought the dance performance was very spiritual and very moving and Carlisha Sutton commented,  “It inspired me to go to church.”

“Inspirational” and “motivational” are words used by Chantal Jones to describe the Senior Pinning Ceremony because it gave her the motivation to finish out her senior year strong.

The dinner event’s dinner menu included mashed potatoes, green peas, macaroni and cheese, grilled chicken, and brownies. The room was filled with smiles and laughter while everyone took pictures and enjoyed the SHSA&T  Class of 2019 Senior Pinning Ceremony.
