Twenty seniors earned Michigan Merit Scholar status for high achievement in all areas on the Michigan Merit Exam.
They are: Zahraa Allen, Jeremy Booker, Kendall Braxton, Lori Conerly, Phillip Crichton, Krissi Estelle, Jordan Gray, Alexus Harris, Jhalia Hill, Jazmine Johnson, Claire McCarthy, Erica Mickens, Jared Mims, Mario Ogu, Takayla Patterson, Seneca Peters, Christopher Phillips, Taylor Thompson, Quanessa Tramel and Nicolus Whitfield.
Merit scholar Nicolus Whitfield said, “I feel glad about it; it’s another achievement I’ve made in my life.” In order to be named a Michigan Merit Scholar, a student must achieve a score of 1 (advanced) or 2 (proficient) in all areas of the exam: Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies
