Centerspread Editor Rashad Timmons earned a National Gold Key Award from Quill & Scroll for his feature story about the hardships of adopted sophomore Sharrieff Moore during the holidays.
The story told of the first Thanksgiving Moore spent with his siblings, who were eventually adopted by the same person.
“The adopted student story was by far the most difficult story to write this year,” said Timmons. “Fortunately, hard work paid off in the end,” Timmons said.
Quill & Scroll is the national journalism honor society.
