Southfield High has its cast of unique characters. It has the wildly popular students that everyone knows, such as the captain of the football team and the head cheerleader. It also has a host of other students who define and represent the school. They have special talents, styles and interests and become well-known for one reason or another. They are the unforgettable faces of Southfield High. Here are five unforgettable seniors from Southfield High’s Class of 2010:
MATT ANDERSON ‘The Movie Maker’
I have a really deep passion for entertainment and media,” says Anderson. “Having fun is something that’s very important to me.”
Anderson is known for his over-the-top, energetic personality. He blurts out people’s names and says random things in character voices. He is often seen seated at a computer in the school, making finishing touches on news videos. He’s Southfield High’s version of Steven Spielberg, only with a lot more hair.
Fellow senior Brittany Roden says, “His uniqueness makes him one of a kind, and his courage to stand out makes him unforgettable.”
TAYLOR GREEN ‘The Fashionista”
“I want to tell people what to put together, how to wear it and where to wear it,” says Green, who is known for her eye-catching wardrobe. “Basically, I want to teach people how to dress and have my own fashion label.”
“Taylor is the only girl I know who can wake up in the morning, throw some random stuff together and have it look nice,” said fellow senior Kiana Abston. “I’m going to steal her clothes!”
Green is noted for her unusual attire. From her pink fishnet stocking to her argyle sweater vest, her outfits always leave a lasting impression.
RYAN MICHALIK “Broadcast King”
Everybody who listens to WSHJ (the school’s radio station) has heard me at some point,” says Michalik. “But I stand out because I’m probably the only gay white male in the school.”
Fellow senior Erin Logan says, “Ryan is a good listener, and he’s good at giving advice. He’s not afraid of being different, and he could care less what people think about him.”
Michalik is the one who gets called in when anything goes wrong in radio. He’s a whiz kid with technology and wants to start his own technology and event management company some day.
BIANCCA DAVENPORT “Miss Manners”
In a sea of gym shoes and Dockers, Davenport is the one in high heels and dresses. “I dress very lady like in skirts and stuff,” says Davenport, who is often complemented for her polite behavior.
Her other claim to fame? “My dad (social studies teacher Harvey Wilson) works at the school, and that’s different,” she says.
Davenport, who plans to study accounting, also has an unforgettable voice: “She has a sweet, innocent voice, and she’s always been extremely nice,” says senior Malika Pettigrew.
TYLER CLIFFORD “The CEO”
Many people have a talent or two, but Clifford has dozens. He’s won numerous awards ranging from getting a “superior” rating as a saxophone player, to being in the Business Professional of America chapter, which was ranked “Chapter of the Year” in Michigan.
“I’m in about 12 organizations total, everything from baseball to the Youth Advisory Council,” says Clifford. “I like being in lots of stuff because I feel like its preparing me for my future as a lawyer or congressman.”
“Tyler’s smart and seems like he’s headed in a good direction,” says classmate Victor Gullatte. “He‘s just a good person to know.”
