Senior Auren Kaplan has been awarded first place in the Holocaust Remembrance Project, a national essay contest that drew 3,000 entries.
In additon to receiving a $1,000 scholarship, Kaplan was also awarded an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., for six days with the other top nine winners.
“The program was truly powerful, and I highly recommend participation in the program,” Kaplan says.
Earlier this year, Kaplan was named a finalist in the Michigan Mathematics prize competition and received a $2,500 Michigan Merit Award.
