The Bamboo Club of Novi is a Korean bistro and the first of its kind in Michigan.
Located in the Fountain Walk Mall, it’s conveniently located near the Emagine Theatre for those who like dinner and a movie.
Upon minutes of entering the restaurant, my guest and I were greeted and escorted to our table. Soothing alternative music flowed through the restaurant. Dim light emanated from hanging lamps with paper lampshades. The walls were beautifully decorated with Korean murals, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
The Bamboo Club is a great place for families with older children, couples, or friends. But it is no place to bring small children.
Our outgoing waiter, Kevin, greeted us. After reviewing the menu, my guest and I ordered Hawaiian Sweet and Sour Pineapple Chicken ($11) and Cantonese Noodles with Chicken and Shrimp (also $11).
The pineapple chicken dish was made with fried and breaded chicken smothered in sweet and sour sauce with onions, peppers, and pineapples, served on a sizzling platter.
The Cantonese noodles with chicken and shrimp was made with egg noodles panned seared on one side, with mixed vegetables tossed in brown sauce. All of the meals are served with a bowl of traditional Korean rice.
The preparation of the food took a while, but the wait was well worth it. Each bite brought us closer to Korea.
The excellence in customer service was displayed when the general manger Karrie D. Dunn spoke to all of the patrons in her resturant. The Bamboo Club displayed excellent customer service, soothing atmosphere, and delectable food. here are 12 other locations, none of which are in Michigan.
