The Mid-Winter Breaks kicks in from Feb. 13 – 22, and students and staff have made lots of plans for how to spend their time off.
Freshman Pedro Biez is flying south. He’s is going to check out two hotspots: Atlanta and then parts of California.
Junior Chanel Hamilton is planning on having a family day with her mom and heading for some mall thereapy at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills.
But her break won’t be all fun and charge cards. She also plans to work for the rest of the break to pay off what she buys.
Art teacher Makini Ahket is forsaking a sunny trip to the Dominican Republic in favor of finishing her thesis. She is working on her masters degree in Tacit Knowledge Art Therapy at Wayne State University.
Junior Ashley Harvey says that she is going to a college seminar in Kalamazoo that will include skiing and tubing trips.
Junior Danielle Owens is heading to the Windy City of Chicago to visit family members and to do some clothes shopping.
Junior Tara Stamps is heading for someplace she’d like to spend more time: home. She says she plans to finish up school projects during her vacation.
And lastly, senior Damon Alexander says he is planning on having a good time in Michigan with friends and family during his 10-day respite from school.
