The senior girls' Powder Puff team soundly defeated the junior girls 12-0 in the annual Powder Puff football game on the school’s new artificial football turf.
It was the first time the junior girls defeated the seniors in several years.
Amid team chants of “04, 04” the senior girls watched their quarterback, Melissa Stroud, score both of the team’s touchdowns and throw Hail Mary passes down the field to teammates Nicolet Horrington and Tanisha Strong.
Juniors suffered from errors. Their kickoff was so pitiful that the referee told them to redo it, which they did.
A bright spot for the juniors, however, was quarterback Chafaun Jackson, who threw a bullet pass to Kelsey Lemay, who ran 15 yards before Stroud tackled her.
