It’s that time of year again: MEAP retakes. However, seniors are still reeling over their delayed MEAP results of last year.
While the makeup MEAP tests are from Oct. 27 – Nov. 7, many seniors only received their scores the week of October 13. This prevented them from knowing which parts of the MEAP they had already passed and which parts they needed to study for.
Gail Setter, the MEAP coordinator, said she has “no clue” as to why the scores took so long to arrive from the State.
“It’s frustrating—it’s never been like this before,” she explains. And SHS’s seniors are left out of the loop.
Seniors took the MEAP (Michigan Education Assessment Program) tests the first two weeks of May, and the results weren’t returned until five months later.
Students who score highly on the MEAP may be eligible for a $2,500 scholarship.
