A new shop for teens has opened in Southfield.
Rock City opened its doors to the public July 28 with hip-hop fashions.
Rock City is one of the few retail stores in Southfield where teens can find their styles. “This seems to be a good area without many places to go shopping and a lot of teenagers,” said store owner Michelle Willis.
The business offers a unique blend of clothing for men and women including Rocawear, Girbaud, NBA, Azzure, Baby Phat, State Property and matching accessories. “We have everything that you will see in the Source magazine or catch watching BET,” said Willis.
The prices of the high quality merchandise ranges from $26 for shirts to $198 for pants. Although store owner Willis said, “We cater to all ages,” the store has a youthful attraction.
The store plays rap music, has bright red carpeting, and features an air brushed picture of Mickey and Minnie Mouse on the walls.
“It has good prices but needs more variety of clothes,” said senior David Warren, who recently visited Rock City.
