My ears are still ringing from the piercing Scream III Tour at Cobo Arena Sept. 1.
Well over 12,500 people entered the venue eager and ready to be entertained by the six artists on the tour- Jhene, Nick Cannon, Mario, Marques Houston and B2K.
Starring act B2K surprisingly popped up from out of the stage floor and stood there, staring at the entire audience, as if they were silently asking, “Are you ready?”
The group performed their hits, “Tease”, “Girlfriend”, “Gots Ta Be”, “Uh Huh” and “Bump Bump Bump.” They heated up the stage with “B2K Is Hot” while fire shot up from the stage’s corners.
During a small segment in the show J-Boog came out to sit and talk to his fans. In the middle of this a girl came with something important she needed to speak with him about, yet he continuously told her that he was busy. They began to fight, and he mistakenly knocked her to the floor. “What A Girl Wants” began to play.
Each member had his own segment. J-Boog’s performance was full of entertainment. He started off by telling his fans this girl told him that he couldn’t dance and that she wanted to battle him. She then entered the stage, and they battled doing the St. Louis dance. Of course, J-Boog won and he jokingly commanded, “Get her off my stage!”
Continuous screams bounced off of the four walls when Boog and two of his dancers gave three of the female audience members lap dances.
Lil’ Fizz joined forces with his younger cousin Jhene to perform their rendition of Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”.
Raz-B, along with Fizz, performed his verse in “Everything”.
Omarion entered the stage lounging in a cream bed with a crown-shaped headboard singing “Sleepin’”. He was dressed in boxers and a hooded fur coat.
Before the show could proceed, the trailer for upcoming movie “You Got Served” was presented to the crowd. This movie is starring B2K, Marques Houston, Lil’ Kim and numerous others. It is described as being the modern version of ‘80s movie, “Breakin’”.
Marques Houston then enters the stage at the top right corner singing “Clubin’”, wasting no time to start his show. Houston also performed his first single “That Girl” and two IMX songs- “Beautiful” and “First Time”, which he dedicated to the ladies and his group (IMX).
Nick Cannon livened up the crowd with his performance. Upon performing “Ya Pops Don’t Like Me”, he tossed his jersey, wife beater and wave cap into the audience, which started a large fight between the fans. He also performed “Feelin’ Freaky”. Before performing his final song, Cannon accompanied a dancer for a break dancing segment. Cannon’s facial expression showed his passion for his music.
Mario entered the stage with a rock instrumental. He was brought in front of thousands of fans by the sound of an electric guitar with pyro flying out of its end. Mario kept the audience on their feet as he sung “Braid My Hair”, “Just A Friend”, “Com’on”, “Chick With The Braids” as well as his impending single. At the latter part of his show, he serenades a young lady singing “Never” on stage.
At this point in the show every male performer stripped to his boxers at the end of their performance.
All this excitement didn’t end at the closing of the show. Hundreds of girls crowded at the back of the arena hoping for the chance to meet the celebrities. When screams sounded, indicating that someone had caught a glimpse of someone the crowd rush to that area. When people got to close for comfort, fights broke out. As a result, four girls were arrested.
If you have strong lungs, and like to be entertained by very talented artist, you should have went to the Scream III Tour. A+
