School Renovations Continue for Merger
The Blue Jay logo on the basketball court is scheduled to be replaced this summer with the school’s new Warrior logo to prepare for the merger of Southfield High School with Southfield-Lathrup High School, said Assistant Principal Vernon Burden.
The Blue Jay logo on the football field artificial turf is also scheduled to be replaced this summer, Burden said.
“Wow, when they take the Blue Jay off the court, it’s going to give me memories, but also it’s going to give Southfield a new start,” said junior Michael Flowers, who played on the Varsity Basketball team.

It’s crazy that they have to paint over years and years of work in our auditorium, gym and everywhere around the school.

Its really sad to see the Blue Jay go in many places of the school where I performed. #RIPBLUEJAYS it will be in memories of all alumni and students who attend at this time.
