Junior Brendann Brown now plays for Southfield High’s football team. His former high school was Farmington Harrison,

Two transfer students on the football team have become key players this season.
Junior Brendann Brown, who transferred from Farmington Harrison, is playing linebacker (same position he played for Harrison) and junior Jordan Nickerson, who transferred from Birmingham Seaholm High School, is playing right offensive tackle (same position he played at Seaholm).
Brown said he transferred because he heard a rumor that Harrison High School was closing. His alma mater is one of a handful of high schools in Farmington that has been recommended for closure in the near future due to declining enrollment.
“One thing I could say I bring is leadership, definitely,” said Brown, who stands 6 feet tall and and weighs 210 pounds.
Nickerson transferred from Birmingham last spring season after playing for Seaholm. He could no longer attend Birmingham because he did not live in the school district, he said.
Nickerson said he has noticed big differences between Seaholm’s football team and Southfield’s team. “I’ll have to say the atmosphere is different; the coaching is a lot tougher. Coaches here at Southfield are more on you, making sure you take care of your responsibilities on and off the field.”
Nickerson said, “I work hard at bringing good attitude and character to the team.”
