Contrary to the school calendar published in September, the Winter Break is scheduled to begin Friday, Dec. 19, at the close of the school day, 2:50 p.m.
Classes are scheduled to resume Monday, January 5, at 7:45 a.m.
The break was originally planned to begin Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the close of school. It was moved to December 19 to remain consistent with other school districts, said Assistant Principal Vernon Burden.
Senior Kyra McGhee says she is happy the break starts earlier: “It is the best thing because I get more days to spend with my family and to complete any possible homework I might have.”
