Glamour Couples Attend Prom 2014

Southfield High School’s Senior Prom was held May 27 at the Marriott Hotel inside the Detroit Renaissance Center.

Approximately 350 students attended, according to Senior Class Sponsor Tracy Armstrong. That number included students from Southfield Regional Academic Campus, and their guests.

The prom theme was “white royalty,” according to senior Madison Jones, who was the prom chairperson. That meant the room was decorated in all-white, with white silk tablecloths, white drapes, and white floating candle centerpieces.

“Prom was fun and the best part was the food and music,” said senior Chris Harmon, who attended with Jordyn Lawlah, of University High School.

Most girls wore Cinderalla-like floor-length, strapless dresses with lots of tulle. Pink was the hot color for dresses this year at the prom.

Most boys wore bow ties with their tailored tuxedoes.

A buffet dinner was included with the prom tickets.
