School Superintendent Resigns
Superintendent Dr. Wanda Cook-Robinson of Southfield Public Schools sent a letter of resignation to staff members on February 12.
She has accepted a new position as Chief of Staff for Oakland Schools.
According to the letter, her resignation is effective March 9, 2014.
The letter said, “I am sad to leave such a wonderful school district, but excited to accept a new challenge. The past nine years as Superintendent of Southfield Public Schools have been the best in my professional career.”
According to a press release issued by the district, Cook-Robinson will join Oakland Schools as part of their executive cabinet.
Associate Superintendent Lynda Wood is serving as interim superintendent until the position is permanently filled.
