2016 Auto Show to Open at Cobo Hall

The hottest show in Detroit in January is the North American International Auto Show, scheduled to open at Cobo Hall on Jan. 11.
A group of Southfield High students plan to attend the show with Engineering Technology teacher Joseph Minnick.
Senior Etaune Johnson, who attended last year with Minnick, said the group was given press passes to view the different cars and displays, and they even presented a go cart during the show for their group called Innovative Vehicle Design.
English teacher Talbert Allen has a love for cars and has attended the Auto Show in past years. He said he is intrigued by the technology of different cars, and his dream car is a Ferrari. Allen has two cars: a Camaro and an Impala.
Juniors David Anderson and D’Onna Dandridge also have gone to the Auto Show and recommend the event. Anderson says he loves the Build Your Own Car feature of the show. Anderson’s dream car is a 2014 Mustang 5.0.
Dandridge says she loves the elegance of the show and the mixture of the new and old school style of the cars. Her dream car is the GT Camaro, and she herself drives a 2015 Dodge Dart.
