Spring Clean-Up Day Beautifies School
April 21, 2015
With rakes and shovels and mulch, some 60 students and teachers primped and preened the front entrance area of Southfield High School today.
It was all part of the school’s annual Spring Clean-Up Day.
Senior Alexander Mays pulled an orange hula hoop out of a high tree branch, where it had rested all winter.
Senior Makene Culpepper helped cut and replace the wooden beams that edge the Hank Moulder Memorial Garden.
Seniors Sahara Ashford, Ciah Green, Victoria Hope and Kaleb Baker swept up leaves that had accumulated in the Honors Courtyard.
After the crew finished spreading fresh redwood mulch in the flower beds by the front entrance and filling several bags with yard waste, School Principal Michael Horn served all his workers grilled hot dogs in the Blue Jay Cafe in appreciation for their service.

I enjoyed spending time with my friends while helping the school. It was a nice memory.
