Principal Cancels Valentine Dance
The Valentine Dance scheduled for Friday, February 13, has been cancelled.
School Principal Michael Horn said he wanted students to focus on their grades and their behavior, rather than the dance, and that’s why he cancelled it.
Horn said a dance is not a priority to him; his priority is educating and graduating students.
He made his announcement at a special senior meeting held February 6 in the auditorium.
Senior Class President Renae Moses said, “I understand why it was cancelled, and there’s no way to show how serious you are about education while rewarding students.”
Fellow senior Turquoise Clark said she was disappointed about the cancellation. “All seniors shouldn’t have to suffer for the actions of a few,” Clark said.

I believe that punishing the school as a whole for a couple of people’s actions is mean. While most of the school is focused, the ones that were not have been punished.

That’s so messed up. I think we should have a second chance.

I like this story; it shows the different views of the students!
