5 Football Players Suffer Injuries

Five football players are sidelined with injuries.
On crutches is star varsity running back Matthew Falcon, varsity defensive end Darius Cooley and junior varsity sophomores Rodney Harrington, Ivan Hart and Maurice McElway.
Falcon’s injury has left senior running backs Adrian Carter and Jeremy Gates to pull more weight in the playoffs.
“Having Matt injured hurt the team because he plays four different positions – two he starts in and two he backs up,” said Football Coach Tim Conley. “It drain’s the team’s depth.”
“This is my second injury,” said Falcon, who was injuried in the game against Birmingham Seaholm. While running with the ball, Falcon made a hard cut, tearing his medial collateral ligament (MCL), in his knee.
Cooley tore his left Achilles tendon.
Hart and Harrington were both injured in a game against Oak Park. Hart tore a ligament in his ankle. Harrington fractured his hip.
McElway is on crutches after surgery to correct his flat foot.
