Stroke of genius: Junior Coty Knight tees off the first hole at Beech Woods Golf Course.

Though they have not won any matches this year, the Girls Golf Team members have been working hard to improve their game, says team Captain Arianna Harrington, a junior.

Harrington says she and senior Shayla Watson are trying to guide the team to a victory. “As a team, we are all still learning the game,” Harrington says.

Coach Stephen Sharp says he wants the team members to work on improving scores and hitting the ball with more consistency while still having fun.

The team dropped matches to West Bloomfield, Royal Oak, Berkley, Farmington, and Birmingham Groves.

But all players have improved both their short and their long games, Coach Sharp says.

The strongest members of the team this year are Harrington, Watson and Bianca Wright, who consistently finish within a few two strokes of each other, says Sharp.
