SHS Teens Star in Movie Theatre PSA

Theatre goers in Southfield next month could be in for a surprise.

Several Southfield High teens and two Southfield High teachers star in a concussion awareness video that is scheduled to air in Southfield AMC Theatres October 11 – 17.

“I can’t wait to see my face on the big screen,” said junior Tyra Lee, who stars in the video.

The one-minute video was planned out by Southfield High’s Social Circle Club. Weber Shandwick Public Relations firm mentored the club and provided equipment and props for filming.

The video included students Shannon Stoudemire, Tiffany Harris, Lauren Williams and Lee, as well as Girls Basketball Coach Jamie Glinz and English teacher Diane Hofsess.

Twelve percent of concussions are from sports injuries. “So to help build awareness on concussion safety, last year, students from Southfield High School teamed up with Safe Kids Huron Valley and the public relations firm Weber-Shandwick to develop a public service announcement video,” said Social Circle Coordinator Amanda Koons of Weber Shandwick.
