While the budget for the 2012-2013 school year has yet to be determined, there’s no doubt that the School Board will be forced to create cuts, said Jacqueline Robinson, marketing and public relations manager for Southfield Public Schools.
Already facing a $7 million deficit, several programs have already been trimmed down or completely cut, most notably the communications and performing arts programs. It is however, unclear where these future cuts will be made, Robinson said.
The Board’s task, said Robinson, will be try to “come up with good solutions to maintain programming.”
