For the third year in the row, The Boys Varsity Basketball team finished as District Champions, leaving team after team in its wake.
“I think we finished good enough, but we didn’t reach our potential,” said Team Captain Ronald Thompson, who was hoping to make it to the state finals, like the past two teams.
The team finished with a 9-11 record, in the regular season and 12-12 record, including post-season games.
Their success included a final victory over rival Oak Park when Oak Park was favored to win. The Blue Jays ended up crushing Oak Park 76-56 to earn the District Championship in their own Field House, in front of a large and noisy crowd.
