I read your editorial in The Southfield Jay about “War Protesters Need to Zip it Up”.
I understand your point of view on the demonstrations… it must be demoralizing to our troops to see public demonstrations against the war. However – think of this: Americans aren’t the only people in the world and are not the only people dying in this war.
It is important for Iraqis and other people in the Middle-east to know that not all Americans agree with the war. If we want the terrorism to end, somehow we have to let these people know that we aren’t all out to kill them and impose our morals over them.
I continue to publicly disagree with this war for one reason- thousands of innocent Iraqi women and children have been killed. Their life is no less important than an American’s.
It’s important that high school students to continue to discuss and think about world issues. I’m glad that you cared enough about this to write an editorial.
